United Ummah of Philly is a non-profit organization, who's dedicated to helping the homeless. Our goal is to end chronic homelessness in our community.  The organization was founded by Ayisha Sims who has personal experience to lead the organization.

Ayisha is from the urban streets of Philadelphia. As a child she experienced hunger and homelessness.  Her mother used drugs for a short time of her life.  During that time Ayisha and her siblings were shifted between family members and shelters.  Her mother's drug addiction left them homeless without guidance.  After she accidentally walked in on her mother getting high. Her mother made the choice to get clean. Now, 23 years later, her mother has obtained a Master degree with other degrees under her belt in the field of drug/alcohol, mental health, and family couseling.

United Ummah of Philly wants to help those families who are in similar situations and worst.  We want to help them achieve self-sufficiency, independence, education, and/or job skills. We would like to offer assistance in getting supportive, permanent, transitional and affordable housing. Also, with the help of outside resources, we would like to offer drug, alcohol, and mental health counseling; transportation; GED classes; vocational training; and job training.

Our mission  is to achieve these goals:

  • Assist in getting supportive housing
